I like how Brian Yen shows the movement in the city clearly through a simple photograph. To me, it implies how city life is never still and there is always something going on. I think that this links perfectly into my project the 'City in Flux' as it implies how the city is always changing.
Yen seems to have used the technique of slowing down the shutter speed to capture the movement and so it doesn't look like a still photo. The movement is shown in the lines and the way that the colours blend together.
I intend to play around with the shutter speeds of a camera to test this. Another option to show movement could be to layer photos over one another, lowering the opacity.
