Creating Narrative

In the first session we was set a task of selecting a few articles from a newspaper which we could then use to create a short story of our own. This task has helped me to understand copyright, as I have used these articles for influence only.

These are the two articles that I used as influence for my story. Although they are completely different to each other, I have combined the two so that it makes sense as on story. Although I found that this wasn't the most enjoyable task, it got my brain thinking of some interesting ideas.

Welbeck a New Player After Deadly Bite
It was a Friday evening; I was preparing myself for the big game tomorrow. It was tough as there had been speculation all day of me finalizing a last minute move to Arsenal. My head was still with United, I was dreading what would happen on the last few hours of Transfer Deadline day.
Later that evening, the phone rang. It was my manager Louis Van Gaal,
“Welbz, you may have already heard the news, we’ve accepted a bid from Arsenal. You’ll complete your transfer tonight, good luck.”
“Am I not good enough?” I thought, “What’s the point of even trying?”
That one phone call had knocked all of the confidence out of me; something very spectacular would need to happen for me to resurrect my career at Arsenal.
I arrived at the Emirates Stadium after meeting up with the squad for the 3 o’clock kick off, and nervous is an understatement to how I felt. The manager was explaining how he was expecting big things from me, and therefore put me straight into the first team starting line-up for the game. No pressure then.
10 minutes before the match kicked off, I pulled on the Arsenal strip for the first time, I was trying to get myself focused which felt like an impossible task. As we stepped into the tunnel, the opposition team began to pipe up, sly comments were thrown at me from every angle.
“No pressure welbz,” and “the goal’s over there” were a selection of the sarcastic comments said by the opposition team. I tried to shake off the comments and focus on the game ahead.

“Ahhhhhhh!” I suddenly screamed, as a sharp pain shot through my arm. I looked down to my left to see a huge False Widow Spider sinking its fangs into my wrist. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life! The next thing I saw was the back of my eye lids as I fainted to the ground.
“Dan! Dan, wake up!” I heard repeatedly shouted in my ear, before I quickly jumped up. I was been dragged back into the dressing room, I thought my chances of playing were now definitely over.
“I’m fine! I can play!” I yelled as I tried to force myself back into the tunnel.
Something was strange, my body was stronger than ever, my confidence was sky high, I felt like a completely different person. I just wanted to get on the pitch.           It was one of the strangest moments of my life, but that was at the back of my mind. All the nerves had gone, and I was raring to go! I made my way through the tunnel as we walked onto the pitch. The atmosphere in the stadium was buzzing. The crowd was repeatedly chanting my name and wanted to them what I could do.
The game started. Santi Cazorla passed me the ball, my first run with the ball was messi-esque as I easily dribbled around 4 players before playing a neat pass to Alexis Sanchez. I had never run so fast or had a touch as good as I just had, I started to wonder what was happening. I felt insane as I thought to myself that this spider had given me powers, it felt like something out of a movie.
As the game went on my amazing form continued, it was the 72nd minute when I completed my first ever hat-trick in professional football. It was a moment I’d never forget as long as I lived, and the day that my football career changed forever.
